Our History
The Journey Begins
Mr. Suthakaran established the first Karan Retail service station in Crawley, laying the foundation for future expansion.
First Major Acquisition
Karan Retail acquired a freehold shop in Burton on Trent, strengthening its retail presence and setting the stage for long-term growth.
Formation of Karan Retail Ltd
Karan Retail Ltd was officially formed. The Crawley service station and other retail properties were transferred into the newly established company.
Strategic Expansion into the Midlands
As part of a planned growth strategy, Karan Retail expanded into the Midlands with the opening of three new service stations.
A Transformative Year
Two additional service stations were opened, further extending the company’s footprint. Karan Retail also began sourcing fuel from BP, strengthening both supply and brand presence.
Continued Growth & Financial Restructuring
Banking services were transitioned from Santander to HSBC, and another service station was opened in the Midlands, supporting ongoing expansion. o We began sourcing fuel from BP, further strengthening our offerings.
Industry Recognition
Karan Retail entered the prestigious Top 50 Forecourts list, securing the 46th position. In the same year, the company was honoured with the BP “Newcomer 2017” Award.

Continued Growth
Karan Retail Ltd was recognised in Forecourt Trader as one of the Top 50 Indies Forecourts in the UK. The company also expanded further in Sussex with the opening of a new service station, improving its ranking to 38th place.
Rapid Growth in Sussex
Two more service stations were added in Sussex, moving Karan Retail up to 21st place in the Top 50 Forecourts rankings.
